  twice and referred to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources

                            JOINT RESOLUTION


 
 Providing for congressional disapproval of the rule submitted by the 
Department of Energy relating to the postponement of the effective date 
     of energy conservation standards for central air conditioners.

    Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United 
States of America in Congress assembled, That Congress disapproves the 
rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to the postponement 
of the effective date of energy conservation standards for central air 
conditioners (published at 66 Fed. Reg. 20191 (2001)), and such rule 
shall have no force or effect.
