                                 A BILL


 
       To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to authorize 
  appropriations for fiscal years 2002 through 2006 to carry out the 
                State Criminal Alien Assistance Program.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``State Criminal Alien Assistance 
Program Reauthorization Act of 2001''.

SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS FOR FISCAL YEARS 2002 THROUGH 
              2006.

    Section 241(i)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 
1251(i)(5)) is amended--
            (1) by striking ``and'' at the end of subparagraph (E);
            (2) by striking the period at the end of subparagraph (F) 
        and inserting ``; and''; and
            (3) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:
                    ``(G) $750,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2002 
                through 2006.''.
