Mr. McKeon introduced the following bill; which was referred to the

A BILL
To prohibit mining on a certain tract of Federal land in Los Angeles
County, California, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. WITHDRAWAL.
The lands adjacent to Soledad Canyon Road in Los Angeles County,
California, as depicted on the map dated May 5, 1999, and numbered D-
ES-99-13, which shall be on file in the offices of the Bureau of Land
Management, Department of the Interior, are hereby withdrawn from the
operation of the mining and mineral leasing laws of the United States.
Any lease or permit issued by the Secretary of the Interior for mining
on such lands is hereby withdrawn, and all mining activities and
relating activities on such lands shall immediately cease on the
enactment of this Act.
