A BILL
To require the Attorney General of the United States and the Federal
Trade Commission to issue guidelines relating to mergers by wholesale
purchasers of livestock, poultry, and unprocessed agricultural
commodities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
That the Attorney General of the United States and the Federal Trade
Commission shall issue guidelines relating to mergers by wholesale
purchasers of livestock, poultry, and unprocessed agricultural
commodities, taking into consideration the effects of such mergers on
farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers, as well as consumers.
