A BILL
To amend the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure to allow motions for a
new trial at any time where the error alleged is a violation of
constitutional rights.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. MOTIONS FOR NEW TRIAL.
Rule 33 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure is amended by
inserting ``A motion for a new trial based on a violation of
constitutional rights may be made at any time.'' before the final
sentence.
