A BILL
To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to permit the Attorney
General to create a record of lawful admission for permanent residence
for certain aliens who entered the United States at least 15 years
prior to the application date.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. RECORD OF ADMISSION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR CERTAIN
ALIENS WHO ENTERED 15 YEARS BEFORE APPLICATION DATE.
(a) In General.--Section 249(a) of the Immigration and Nationality
Act (8 U.S.C. 1259(a)) is amended to read as follows:
``(a) entered the United States at least 15 years before
the application date;''.
(b) Conforming Amendment.--The heading of section 249 of the
Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1259) is amended to read as
follows:
``record of admission for permanent residence for certain aliens who
entered united states at least 15 years before application date''.
(c) Clerical Amendment.--The table of contents of the Immigration
and Nationality Act is amended by amending the item relating to section
249 to read as follows:
``Sec. 249. Record of admission for permanent residence for certain
aliens who entered United States at least
15 years before application date.''.
