A BILL
To provide for the protection of train employees.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT.
Section 21103 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding
at the end the following new subsection:
``(d) Additional Limitation.--A railroad carrier and its officers
and agents may not require a train employee who has been on duty or
available for duty for any portion of each of 7 consecutive days to go
on duty or be available for duty until at least 72 consecutive hours
have passed after the employee is released from duty or from being
available for duty.''.
