A BILL
To amend title 38, United States Code, to repeal the 30-year
manifestation period for a presumption of service-connection for
respiratory cancers occurring in veterans who served in the Republic of
Vietnam during the period beginning on January 9, 1962, and ending on
May 7, 1975.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Agent Orange Respiratory Cancer Act
of 2001''.
SEC. 2. REPEAL OF 30-YEAR MANIFESTATION PERIOD FOR PRESUMPTION OF
SERVICE-CONNECTION FOR RESPIRATORY CANCERS OCCURRING IN
VETERANS WHO SERVED IN THE REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM DURING THE
PERIOD BEGINNING ON JANUARY 9, 1962, AND ENDING ON MAY 7,
1975.
Section 1116(a)(2)(F) of title 38, United States Code, is amended
by striking ``within 30 years'' and all that follows through ``May 7,
1975''.
