I don't know, I just know that TNG on DVD is FAR from resolution and
color fidelity of any modern properly done film transfer. Maybe it cost
more to render effects and other post production in that resolution. TNG
on DVD looks to be about the resolution level of laserdisc which was
great for it's time.

Enterprise was done in high definition in a 16:9 ratio.
