Um, who said her name was Vina? Nobody in the scene had mentioned it since the beamdown. Unless she'd been the only woman on board, how could Number One have possibly known that? Even if she had been the only woman on board, the Talosian story had been that she had been born almost as the ship crashed. If that were true, there's no reason the daughter of Crewman Vina. Basically Number One pulls plot foreshadowing out of thin air here. Kind of odd too that at the end the Talosians should be convinced that humans can't survive in captivity, after they've been holding Vina that way for 18 years. That should have been a clue that individuals vary and that maybe the ship's captain just wasn't the right choice. But no, this escapes them. No wonder these people are dying out. . 0
