The original contracts the cast worked under didn't pay much residual
at all (IIRC, it was stated in some book somewhere that they received
payments for the first *five times* their episodes aired and that was it).
However, the contracts said nothing about videotapes, laserdiscs and
DVDs, and when the episodes were released for sale, all new contracts
were required.
