My perception of the entity known as "Q" is that he was a lot like the
devil or Satan in a personified form.
 Satan never lies either,just distorts the truth enough that he
"delivers" on his promise only it is NOT the outcome you were
expecting.Same with evil genies in "Aladdin" lore.You have to consider
ALL the angles of any request.Even then,you almost assuredly overlook a
bad one,and that is what you get.
 "Q" to me is/was a lot like that.....
