I think people tend to look at the older Star Treks through rose colored
glasses. I can't say that Enterprise was that much worse than any other
Trek. 

The Original Series: C'mon, about 1/3 of the episodes were complete
junk. many of the others were undeniable classics, but some were
mediocre, or good if you liked that kind of episode.

The Next Generation: The first two seasons are almost complete throw
aways. Seasons three, four, and five were good, but the writing started
to slip by season six. Season seven was almost totally unwatchable.

Deep Space Nine: Yeah, I know this is the fans' favorite, but I never
much care for it. I gave up watching it about midway trough the second
season. I caught episodes from time to time, but I never saw anything
that seemed that interesting.

Voyager: I gave up on this one after the first season. I caught episodes
when they looked interesting. I especially liked the episode where they
introduced 7 of 39 DDD. 

I'm afraid I don't remember much of the animated series, and let's face
it, the movies have been pretty hit and miss.

I've got the first two boxed sets of Enterprise, and I gotta say, there
were some very enjoyable episodes. At least ( IMHO ) as high a
percentage as in any of the other series. And don't come whining to my
about continuity, and cannon. That's just for people who can't admit it
was just a TV show ( and movie, and novels, and comic book... ) I know
it's cool on usenet to cut things down, but I gotta say that I think a
lot of the dumping on Enterprise is a bit over the top.

After all, it was only Star Trek.
