This article is so easily proven bogus by anyone who reads it. Another WWN classic. First, this doomsday cloud is hurtling towards us at "close the speed of light." That means, if it's due to hit us in 2014, it's roughly 9 light years away. Then we read "But Dr. Sherwinski's contacts at the agency's Chandra X-ray Observatory leaked to him striking images of the newly discovered chaos cloud obliterating a large asteroid". Since present day telescopes can't even resolve earth-sized planets at a distance of 9 light years, how in heck could they observe a "large asteroid" at that distance? I mean, come on guys! If you're going to cook up a hoax, do a better job of it. This looks like some kind of hack plot B&B might have contrived. Say, maybe this is really just the prelude to another more insidious form of malevolence -- next summer's blockbuster. First start a buzz and then exploit the buzz. And if the White House is taking the time to respond to stories like this, then that would explain why they're screwing up so badly these days -- they're spending all their time reading Weekly World News. ww . 0
