To : alt.tv.star-trek.enterprise From : SAC441 Date : Sat Sep 17 2005 22:09:26 From Newsgroup: alt.tv.star-trek.enterprise This cloud is supposedly only 10 million miles long? I do not believe this story, but if it were even remotely true, 10 million miles is only a "pipsqueak" of a distance as far as the solar system is concerned. That is only about ONE TENTH the distance the Earth is from the Sun. Heck, the cloud COULD slip between the Earth and Sun and completely MISS IT.The solar system is BILLIONS of miles across, and this cloud could just pass through and miss everything hypothetically speaking. This story is absurd.Even event horizon material eventually dissipates with distance and time, and any "matter cancelling effects" or material distortions are bound to be minimal even if it did hit something. . 0
