Sorry to follow up on my own post, but it strikes me that the writers
have always shown rather a lack of imagination when naming characters.
Yeah, I know that IRL people will often have names that are the same as
or similar to those of their co-workers, but when inventing characer
names, writers are usually advised to try and keep them unique, to
avoid confusing the reader/viewer.

But think about it ... in the early seasons we had Carol and Kerry and
Carla and Carter. And Chloe. And a little later they added Carl.
While none of them ever actually wnt by their first names, in the first
season there were 3 regular or recurring chanacters named John.
(Carter, Tag and Kayson.)
Susan's boyfriend in S1 was Div.  Her (unseen) boyfriend in S7 was Dix.
(With the first name of Charlie ... and she then, of course, went on to
marry,divorce, hook up with and move in with Chuck.)

One's head begins to spin!
