Yep. According to a flooring company FAQ, a 125-pound woman in high
heels generates pressure of about 2000 pounds per square inch (PSI)...
this, in comparison to a 2-ton car (20-30 PSI) or an African elephant
(50-100 PSI). I have no idea, though, how to calculate what kind of
force would be generated if she swung the shoe... any physics students
in the room?
