Subj : Best possible stack size for a thread

Dear All,

I am new to this group and am creating a pthread . The stacksize
allocated by the Linux OS (without any setstacksize) seems to be around
2 MB ( calculated using getstacksize) . I need to know is such a large
stack size required for the thread to function . How can I find out a
optimal value for the stack size of a thread ?? .
