That little experiment got me looking for new kinds of info; In the developer's reference it says: Double-clicking the left mouse button actually generates four messages: WM_LBUTTONDOWN, WM_LBUTTONUP, WM_LBUTTONDBLCLK, and WM_LBUTTONUP again. I'm trying to figure out what happens to the WM_LBUTTONDBLCLK message.
