Sebastian,

Thanks for the page.  The "out of memory during 16-bit link" sounds most 
similar to my problem.  But how would I change the memory settings for 
_default.pif to -1?  I also tried looking for a pifedit.exe file, but 
there doesn't appear to be any such file on my computer.  Probably 
because I'm using XP instead of NT...
