not in that way but tp7 to delphi is not...

one thing to note is that this is the PASCAL_LESSONS echo... not the PASCAL 
echo... there is a difference if no one knew ;-)

starting at and learning the bottommost structures is a good thing in my 
eyes... as long as one doesn't forget them and the lessons they learned then 
when they move up to 3rd generation and 4th generation languages... one of my 
biggest complaints is that things aren't streamlined and fast like they used to 
be... now we have a huge amount of bloat in the code and have to throw faster 
and more powerful hardware at it to get it to run ;-(
