59c Subj : OS/2 WARP4 FIXPAKS ARE STILL AVAILABLE! To : Bob Jones From : Mike Luther Date : Sun Jun 08 2003 01:31 am Yes Bob .. BJ> Anyone running an IDE hard drive based system with BJ> current disk sizes will need to at least get an BJ> updated IDE driver (either IBM's or Dani's) put on the BJ> Warp 4 boot floppy before they can even attempt a BJ> serious install from scratch..... I thought I covered that in the prompt to visit the IBM device driver site and get the two replacement floppy disk images for Disk #1 and Disk #2 from the Laptop support section. They have the needed files on them, as well as a modified CONFIG.SYS for the copy from floppy changes needed. Your note is significant in relation to my comment for another vector, though Bob. Once you go in with that set of diskettes, updating to the Device Driver #2 package I guess would have to be approached from the standpoint that the IBM 506 IDE driver would have to be thought about come upgrade time there, no? Isn't the Cat's Meow at all this the fabled Device Driver Pack 003 which isn't public or free? Would you get the question that this driver is more recent than the one on the Fix Pack 002 and you should not replace it? Is that the right thought line? Thanks. --> Sleep well; OS/2's still awake! ;) Mike @ 1:117/3001 --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Ziplog Public Port (1:117/3001) . 0
