If the day has finally come that a Western Digital drive is used > as a standard of reliability, it's time I drank the hemlock! They used to suck hard back in the 90s... I think they have improved, though, just judging by seat-of-the-pants statistics based on warranty issues with PCs that I have sold. We stopped selling Maxtor about a year ago, when we noticed a slight trend (didn't I say this already?) I can tell you this though: We sold a metric assload of Samsung IDE drives a few years ago (we stopped buying them because of supplier issues) and we have NEVER had one come back dead. Hmmm. I need to look into them again. o (O) BeLLy --- þ Synchronet þ **** BraziBBS: bbs.brazi.net **** . 0
