It is easier just to use gopher but if you can't try this.
After you have entered your search look at the url, it will
be something like:
gopher://hal3000.cx:3000/7?searchrequest=(the word you entered)&submit&submit
just delete everything back to
gopher://hal3000.cx:3000/7?(the word you entered)
But then again if your browser can't "do" gopher then this is a mute point
as the jughead, veronica, dictionary and Whois servers only gives results
as a gopher://address
V2 at floodgap by the way does handle the "extended" url's generated in the
html requests, it just takes you to a gopher://result page
