Try the xmodem command (this also allows you to download files)

xmodem -flags file.list

flags

s - send
r - receive
a - Apple format (returns instead of line feeds)
b - binary
k - use 1K mode
y - use Ymodem batch

type man xmodem for more details.

You would use "xmodem -raky" to receive the file(s) using ymodem batch 
protocol to receive a text file in Apple format.
