I managed to get the Proterm demo working (I needed to use the fixed speed rts/cts driver, set my init string to ATX7, and turn off DCD and DSR handshake in the control panel). I am now able to connect at 38.4 Kbaud. I will try out the Ansiterm demo again later. My point, however, was this: A demo isn't very effective if you can't get it to work. Now maybe I'm just getting grumpy or stupid in my old age, but I was starting to get frustrated with those two demos. That's it. The whole thing.
