In Mar 1993 I upgraded from a ROMFF to a ROM00 by purchasing the
342-0033 ROM chip from AllTech Electronics.  This added the ability to
use Smart Port devices, in this case my UniDisk 3.5.  This computer is
still in use, even with a modem, the kids love it.

On text transfers you lose a couple of characters each time the buffer
is saved to disk, BUT on protocal transfers (xmodem, etc) it is
perfect!

The AllTech instructions involve 2 shorting jumper staps (solderable)
on the mother board under the key board.

16K ROM   W1 Shorted (soldered), W2 open (cut)
32K ROM   W1 open (cut), W2 shorted (soldered)

Jumper W1 is located near the left edge of the MON ROM socket, W2 is
located directly between IOU and MMU devices.

The //c Technical Reference manual (ISBN 0-201-17727-7) is handy as
well.
