Someone mentioned that they couldn't get it to work with their modem. Well, I set it up on my other GS with my old Supra 2400 modem. I couldn't get it to work at first. No matter what init string I set up with the vars.editor, I had no luck. The fix: I used a block editor to take a look at the vars file. It seems the editor does not erase the default string and terminate the newly entered string correctly. The fix is simple. Just look to see where your new string ends. The next block should be a 00 followed by an FF. Then just enter 00 for the remaining blocks that contain remnants of the original string. You could actually use the file peeker util that comes with The Complex I imagine. Finally, change the bit that puts the board into test mode via the vars editor and away you go. I hope this helps some of you that have wanted to try this out online but have't been able to get your modem working.
