He swipes your bunny friends and feeds their carcases (eww) to his ghastly contrapition. Without the rabbits, his reactor will go critical ... and you are the last one! So strap on your rocket pack, take out your tommy gun, and rush to his haunted house to do battle! The game consists of ten levels, each separated by an elevator. Your goal is to get to each elevator until you pass the 10th level, where you win the game, get what amounts to a strange animated ending, and get ranked by score (from "pond scum" to "bunny".) ---------------------------------- Game Play ---------------------------------- In each level there are 10 cabinets, each unlocked by standing behind it and pressing button 1. Grab an item from a open cabinet by pressing the space bar. Once you retrieve the items from the 10 cabinets, a "up" sign will flash and the elevator will become unlocked. Sometimes the up sign will flash before you clear all the cabinets. This tells you that the remaining cabinets are either empty or full of bombs, so it's best to proceed right to the elevator! Cabinets also contain gold bars (for points) and bullets for your gun. These must be collected. After encountering your first bomb, you will learn to run by cabinets as you open them. Button 0 fires your tommy gun. You have limited ammo so watch the readout. In each map you will encounter bats, the pumpkin, force doors, a key, and one boss monster. Keys open the force doors, the bats and pumpkins are killed by one shot, and the bosses take multiple shots, sometimes to specific body parts. The boss will regenerate at the back end of the map when you kill him, so be careful when approaching the elevator. Note that when the bats are hanging to the ceiling or floating up, that can be touched without hurting the bunny. The monsters are as follows: Frankenstien - kill with 5 shots, easy Dracula - shoot eye beams Mummy - is very fast, will catch you off guard Ghost - Can go through walls, luckly can be killed with only 2 shots Blob - invincible, must be avoided! Invisible Man - can only hit him in the parts that appear Zombie - must destroy his head, body, and legs -- all parts are still dangerous until the last one has been destroyed Witch - will shield herself when you fire, fire in burst to get between the shielding Werewolf - will warp around the map (!!) Mad Scientist -- guards the exit, pretty easy ---------------------------------- Game Displays ---------------------------------- At the top, from left to right, is: The key - displays the skeleton key if you've picked it up for this level Score - duh. Do you really need help here? Should I index this? Geesh. Players - number of players Bullets - number of bullets, up to 99 ---------------------------------- Bugs ---------------------------------- There is one bug in this program that I know off -- the front part of the map is a "safe" zone where nothing can hurt you, but it's kind of wierd because everything just disappears. ---------------------------------- A bit of History ---------------------------------- I wrote this game when I was 17 in high school ... I was too chicken to shop it around. Maybe it would have sold, who knows? The date "1985" on the title screen is wrong (!!), it was actually completed in 1983 but I never even packaged it up till I was about ready to move on to the mac! Let me dedicate my little effort to all those that inspired me, like Nasir, or D. Schroeder, or the guys at Penguin. Comments are appreciated! [>] Brian
