I was helping an open-source app become more #accessible yesterday and we ran into the problem that it looks like #screenReader Orca has a bit of a tendency to crash when exposed to webkitGTK applications. I've not done Desktop #linux for a long time and have no idea what the workarounds for this would be, does anyone know anyone who might know what's happening here? Do we need to set a random environment variable somewhere or update a specific package so this person can do basic screen reader testing on their app? #tech #openSource #screenReaders #linux #GTK #webdev

Going to be redoing my website this week. I'd ideally like something lightweight and rock-solid that mostly works with static content, but I would like to have the option to add very limited eCommerce, comment form and contact form options at a later stage. WordPress seems vastly overkill for this, while I was mildly underwhelmed by #ghost last time I tried, partially due to the #accessibility of the backoffice lagging behind where I'd like it to be.What would be good for this, something based on #astro perhaps? Eleventy? Roll my own? #webdev #indieWeb

@jibsaram @jscholes @KaraLG84 That is honestly why I am hesitating re: Eleventy. I've been meaning to properly check it out but I'm not sure I like what I'm seeing as of late.Hugo, Jekyl and Astro are on my list to look into but this link for sure has some extra bits, thanks for sharing!

@jscholes @jibsaram @KaraLG84 From what I understand Build Awesome because Font Awesome, and Eleventy (now Build Awesome) will continue to be developed next to some kind of pro-tier which will cost money and ... no doubt all sorts of other cool things you may or may not want
