       I've started buying second-hand Blu-rays on eBay – they work out cheaper than renting/buying films on streaming services. So now of course I would like to rip them. Can anyone recommend, from personal successful experience, a specific external Blu-ray drive that can be used together with some tool like MakeMKV on Linux to rip Blu-rays? All the forum posts I can find involve internal drives in USB-SATA exclosures with custom firmware flashed – is that really what it entails?
