       @lina it's so funny that the "nuanced take" demands come without nuance. What's worse than people without nuance is people who pretend to never take a side while actually taking whichever side benefits them in the moment.Any technology that expands the reach of colonialism cannot be used by abolitionists to achieve abolition. No nuance will change this. Using AI = siding with colonialism. "Oh they do other positive things—" cool cool cool, the "poverty bad but we have iPhone so capitalism not bad" defense. Good & bad things don't simply cancel out; moral arithmetics don't exist, & AI hasn't been embedded into the fabric of society yet despite the clear plans to force it in, so there's no "can't get my needs met another way" excuse.

       @ariadne the marketing on LLMs is garbage though. Everyone hates AI. The "craze" is blatant theft & disinformation campaigns.
