       @grips @teto arch was great in 2011.  like the spiritual successor of slackware.  but the people were gatekeepers and elitist and rude.  like, genuinely irl people that deserve to be boiled in acid.and now the distro is meh and the younger generation is more polite, but only because genz are flaky goths about to kts.doomed distro. regrettably.

       @anokasion @EdBoatConnoisseur replace it.  don't discuss with anyone.  if it's a real improvement and looks clean and professional, you don't need permission.strong nylon cord and a soft plastic handle.  also, search for "cistern chain guide" or "wardrobe rail centre bracket".  this needs to be installed so the cord stays vertical.

       @Eiswald @Terry the public health people are always monitoring things.  basically, they measure the heat-proof toxins produced by bacteria.  they have methods to measure from the surface and from inside.ultimately, supermarket meat might be ok on the day of delivery.  maybe.  much safer is the farm shop, the same day or day after slaughter.

       @elftummy One popular approach is to say that the building needs some basic retrofitting to meet general regs and the outside needs a cleanup both for aesthetics and public safety.  whatever approach is least bureaucrsatic.then you erect a scaffold around the building with netting to protect the public from falling debris.  and now, they can't really see in.  and you're free to completely gut and rebuild.  basically a whole new building within the original envelope.  heck, you can extend the back and add something small on top.as long as you end up with lots of rented units, local gov is happy.
