       My dad built a career at the top of the automotive engineering industry, built on childhood curiosity, experimentation,  and an apprenticeship in telecoms engineering with the GPO.        @bagder I don't think we're giving GitHub enough credit for providing the single most potent attack vector in the tech world, along with a host of tools for mass automation against that attack vector. That's not a small thing. Thanks to them updating software has never been this dangerous, ever, and no one is thanking them.

       @dangillmor I'm surprised it's that low. Though one thing is that they tend to get higher search engine placement too.  It feels weirdly un-hyperbolic to say that this is the end of the web and search engines. Communities of human interests need to get back to curated web rings. Search is going to die, and more or less already has.

       @benjojo I must admit, it's the major upgrade path that stopped me running debian as a desktop. (not that arch is /that/ much better, but the "do magic step to switch major subsystem" parts tend to be rarer, but scarier).

       @Rairii What happens if the AI you use reads those install instructions and uses another AI? You want paperclips? Becuase *THATS* how you get PAPERCLIPS!
