       @mntmn @aud @aeva this has bothered me for awhile and I was hoping that somehow Apple's move to their arm would somehow make it easier for them to make a Linux/arm64 build of Bitwig.

       lgbt domains are expensive. So I'm going to get rid of these:genderqueer.lgbtgenderfluid.lgbtIf anyone on the fediverse who seems reputable to me, I'll sell it at huge discount or even free, depending on what you will doing with it. The only catch is your registrar will probably charge you a lot to renew it. I'm trying to save up money for laser hair removal and part of that is cutting needless expenses like this.

       @AzulCrescent I think if I didn't find my wife, I'd probably still be alone. I think there's more luck and randomness in it than a lot of people admit. And yeah, I think being trans is a contributing factor. When I was a kid, straight girls didn't like me for ~some mysterious reason~.(If you moved to Portland, OR, USA you will probably immediately find a trans girlfriend, the only catch is she might be kinda weird, and also our federal government is evil and scary)

       @cwebber do you have a writeup expanding on “datacenters are an anti-pattern” because this is 100% how I feel. I’m not fighting over AI. I’m still fighting over the cloud. Society has badly fumbled the fact that everyone has incredible computing power in their pocket. We’ve already been wasting electricity on idle servers and inefficient high level code. I’ve been - and am - part of the problem, moving functionality to the cloud for business reasons I hate.

       @mntmn yeah, I'm seeing companies do stuff that doesn't even make sense from a business perspective. Unless their aim is to not seem like they fell behind by omission? Even when individuals try to make a bandwagon part of their personal branding. I think the last thing any person or product would want to do is to be perceived as just a wrapper around a popular AI product.

       @alice_i_cecile @matt my reason for hard line on LLM contributions is the copyright concern. But I am putting hand-written AGENTS.md in repos to assist if people want to use it for other things like plan-only or asking questions. Or to modify for their own use. It’s also worse environmentally if everyone using AI has to independently re-run /init

       @cwebber I was radicalized in my 20s by the Norse mythology people. I wanted to find people who were into Old English and Old Norse then realized too many of those people were just white supremacists. Also related - they're a "WWII buff" but otherwise not very knowledgeable about history and weirdly uninterested in how the Holocaust happened because that's not a battle. Or they're into the Civil War but not into the slave revolts that were happening prior to that.

       @ariadne a lot of the copyright-based arguments against AI are, for me, "based if true but not true." I more worry about it being like copyright on steroids - people getting in trouble for "infringing" because every possible permutation of culture was auto-copyrighted by a massive server farm.

       @libreoffice @Jeff I would have said this was a good policy in the past, but I think it's worth considering the potential copyright issues presented with AI-generated output (but not with using AI to ask questions about the code base or to check your code for issues).
