       @tj I thought all of the 2G networks have been shutdown, at least in the states. One of the dumb phones I looked at recently was still a 5G phone, just didn’t have any capability for apps, web, etc. I think everything is doing VOIP in LTE or 5G mode these days.

       @tj didn’t want you to spend money on something you can’t use. The only reason I knew this is because the BigBrother telematics system in my car went NO COMMs when they killed the 2G network, and it reminds me every startup that it can’t call home. Shucks.
