@AlphaKiloPapa yeah, no doubt. the fallout has been impossible to ignore, despite the best effort of many.the switch-up was definitely crazy in that regard. hard to really say how the "communiTAY" should/could have best responded. @Vox @AlphaKiloPapa can't say I disagree. I also found no use in ignoring or abandoning or disavowing, etc.several people in my life have both shown me the way to some extent but also let me down to another extent. If we just cut everyone off for that this would be a lonelier and more miserable existence than it already is.appreciate you 🙏

@tj yeah the cohesion was lost and we no longer have a single cultural anchor. that was what the show used to be, even if we took some level of it with a grain of salt, it was still a common cultural thread. We had the same framework/foundation.Once it became too much to bear and the loudest defectors were so consistently attacked, it was a Tower of Babel type event.

@Leyonhjelm @AlphaKiloPapa The fracture was bad but the year-long+ crash outs were definitely even worse. It was really the biggest part of me stepping way back. It was just no fun to participate in and futile in every possible way. Like 1984's "Two Minutes Hate" but for months on end.In fact, I think today was my first actual post here, I am pretty sure that all I've done before today has been strictly boosts and replies from this account.

@AnthemAK foreign influence campaign to get our own people to lobby/protest against literally the biggest source of potential domestic economic growth for the foreseeable decade.Seriously, we build no factories, we make no goods...almost 75% of our GDP is in services (real estate, finance, entertainment, etc) only like 15% is physical goods. Data centers are like, the only thing being built here so opposing them will grind our economy further to a halt.

@dictatordave @AnthemAK yeah you could be right 🤷♂️ I think a rural setting for them is not really bright. There are plenty of nightmare industrial blight zones in cities that they could be jammed into that wouldn't rock anyone's boat. The nice rural countryside should definitely remain peaceful and rural.Rural governments in those cases likely looking for kickbacks against the will of their constituents.

@dictatordave @AnthemAK what about a data center is any different than other industrial builds?all I've seen cited is generators and HVAC...literally every big industrial build has similar noise.I really don't have a dog in the fight one way or another but it does represent a significant portion of new construction, creeping toward $50 billion annualized spending earlier this year and it's almost half of all new private office construction https://www.statista.com/topics/13572/data-center-construction-in-the-united-states/
