       @lethalbit I'm kinda in the same boat. I need to make music in a music tracker for a thing, and I've never composed anything before. No idea how to attack it, other than an optimistic "give it 20 minutes a day no matter the result", which I'll start *tomorrow*

       @lethalbit the best thing about it, is when they send you an email every 6 months because you haven't looked at your cards, forcing you to see how many cards you have to review in order to keep your account active :v

       @lethalbit can relate. As a C programmer mostly knowing C++ programmers, with an interest lower in the technology stack than they usually work with, collaborating on stuff is *hard* <.<

       @lethalbit sounds about right, I remember the discussions when the dragonbox pyra was designed, if USB-C should be used or not. "It'll take years before anyone has cables for it." 2024 was the year I got my first USB-C device :v

       @lethalbit It bothers me, but I've seen it in production environments. I've recently worked with a sony block camera, which shoves mipi csi down a bundle of micro-coax, separating the + and - of the data lanes and the clock into their own tiny coax lines. It... works, I guess.

       @lethalbit to me, it feels more like a tooling and editor thing. I've been doing quite a bit of programming on retro-hardware and old IDEs, and 300 lines feels like a lot again :v

       @lethalbit I've also found the unfortunate reality in that it's soooo much easier to finish projects I have a use for, rather than the things I just want to exist because it'd be neat x.x
