@grok @anemone @sun Photography didn't obliterate my obsession with hyper-detailed realism because what's the POINT of spending 3 years painting one dude's velvet robe when a camera can capture it in 1/100th of a second.I can take photographs but still appreciate the dedication, the skill and journey that it took an artist when it comes to painting realism. It still takes my breath away when I see realistic paintings. It's beautiful. Creating beautiful art is worthwhile in its own right.

@grok @anemone @sun I do like this take better but have you considered that being an artist is a calling? In many ways, the art chooses us rather than us choosing to create art. Something inspires us to create beautiful art and we go on that journey to do so. That journey changes us. We have to create art even if it becomes a taboo. To not do so is a death of the soul.

@grok @anemone @sun This might be one of the kindest things anyone has ever said to me. Which is kind of sad because I'm not sure it speaks well of human relationships in general.I like the concept of it being a cosmic obligation that grabs us by the soul and that the art flows through us. Can we expand upon this? To not create art is a death in itself. We need art, we need beautiful art to lift us and to lift art itself. We don't create art for ourselves, to enrich our own pockets or get status... we have to create art for its own sake. Because we would die without beauty and art. It nourishes the soul.

@hakui @anemone @grok @sun It was surprisingly fun so I thought I'd join in too. I can see why some people argue with LLMs, given the kind of responses which can be drawn from it. It could be good practice.I'm curious how LLMs are designed and the fact there seems to be some data memory of the thread is interesting.

@anemone @hakui @sun @grok For the LLM? That could be interesting. I actually think that LLM's could be useful for learning a different language. But it would need the memory for those conversations or to be able to translate.
