       @Hothrin@transfem.social VLAN tags are for having multiple virtual layer-2 "networks" on the same layer-1 connection.As for why your ISP requires you to add the correct tag: No clue. Exposing a VLAN trunk to customers feels like a colossally bad idea…

       @lain@lain.com Yeah, unfortunately that’s not a reliable signal. I have seen people who let AI do the whole implementation and then commit by hand. I don’t know why they do it, but that seems to be quite common.
