When I move back to my dorm I'll just run it out the window down to the ground, it'll be sneaky since I'll be facing the back of the building where no one goes.

I remember reading that back in the day individual numbers were assigned to the actual crossbar switches, so if you were a phreak doing raw blue box dialing you could hear the kathunks of the switches on each number. Kinda weird though that they'd make 1-800 numbers arguably the longest, maybe they wanted to get people to buy touch tones.
