       I needed the percolator to turn on early this morning compared to the normal weekend schedule, but I didn't want to mess with the existing weekday or weekend schedules in #HomeAssistant , so I created a "one-shot" automation - it turns on the percolator at the desired time, and then disables itself.So good.

       What is the Jellyfin of eBooks and PDFs?  Exact same use cases as a family uses Jellyfin for:- multiple libraries/categories- multiple file types- (optional: transcoding)- multi user- mobile apps- nice web interface- easy containerized install

       Water pump replaced and heater core flushed on the Jeep.  I have cabin heat again, it's quite nice.  It was a long winter.

       @mike @pachli IMO, this is a client side choice; don't dictate how people consume the fediverse. I fail to see how lobbying against client side featureset in the fediverse model has any upside at all.

       @nina_kali_nina I like how you are approaching this - I'm on a similar path...Debian 13 is comfortable, I don't have to abandon it to plan a transition to the BSD's (in my case, I'm looking at NetBSD for the most part right now)

       @nina_kali_nina NetBSD appeal deeply to me because it's so small, and the "small town" size you noted in relation to NVMM where it's people contributing, not huge corpos.The flip side for me is like 85% or more of BSD users are on FreeBSD - it would probably be a _lot_ easier daily driving in that space, I suspect.The idea of rolling up my sleeves and actually contributing a port when needed to NetBSD is also tantalizing tho - maybe I don't need everything handed to me in a package.

       The most disappointing part of the AX.25 removal from the Linux kernel is that it more or less happened with zero consultation as far as I can tell - there were amateurs on the linux-hams mailing list, which is an official kernel mailing list, discussing which technical direction to proceed, people were starting to talk about how they could contribute, who else they could talk to, and next thing the list knew, the patch had been accepted and AX.25 was gone.

       In fact, there were people actually submitting patches for the AX.25 code, and then the next post in the thread was like "oh, hold up, the patch ahead of you to rip everything out was accepted"

       @Geojoek What is a good beginner book for learning more about plate tectonics?  Like for the person looking to go further than the interpretive displays at the park museum, but only has "cool looking rock" knowledge levels more broadly in geology?

       Taking advantage of a rainy down day at the cottage in Newfoundland to finish getting the newly rebuilt portable system set up for digital.  Mostly just getting direwolf and fldigi set up, nothing crazy or difficult, I just didn't have time before we left. I'll think about throwing a wire in the tree later on this aft, if I figure out how to waterproof (lol..water resist) the EFHW's balun with the materials I have on hand if needed.

       Iceberg we saw near Twillingate yesterday.  Twillingate was a nice little town, but Crow Head up the road delighted us even more so.  My wife told me I could put Crow Head on the list (of places, for eventualities..)
