       @sun I'm anti-AI for luddite reasons (I believe it'll cause far more harm to society than good) whereas I wouldn't call the bluesky crowd luddites because they seem to hate AI because they associate it with corporations and make up reasons (water, copyright) to hate it from there.  These are the same people who were really into fully automated luxury gay space communism a few years ago, if corporations weren't pushing AI they'd be soying themselves over it

       @georgia @subnetter The nonviolent Indian independence movement only worked because a) they were lucky enough to be fighting people who cared about a compassionate public image and b) because it was backed up by the threat of terrorism if the peaceful way didn't work.  Apartheid SA and the civil rights movement in the USA where much the sameUnfortunately when it comes to major political change nonviolence only works in a small minority of cases, and then only as one tactic among many
