       @dangillmor I'm not a journalist, but I was warned almost two (TWO!) years ago about something that we post on my office website on a monthly basis and one of those "prediction markets".TBH, I never heard of  the term "prediction market" until maybe last summer. It was originally described to me as "a gambling website".

       @dangillmor I haven't been to a movie theater in a decade, chiefly because my hearing has gone to all hell. Was thinking about doing so recently because a non-SF-geekie friend was asking about "Project Hail Mary", but then I discovered that tix at the NYC theater closest to my apt were over $23. WTAF?Pardon me while I I yell at clouds about paying $4 to see a movie at matinee prices back when I was in grad school (not in NYC).

       @dangillmor "Pay nor or pay more later." Saw a piece about this a week or so ago because Idaho had cut back on Medicaid mental health care, then saw various costs (including policing) go up and also deaths, so re-instated the payments.

       @viq @dangillmor I think this is pretty much the way do it. I have three separate filters, but each has multiple hashtags in it because I get very tired of seeing categories of stuff in my feed. And even more tired of it if I decide to peruse the Trending feed.

       @dangillmor I've seen nothing so far to indicate Thiel is interested in sf. OTOH, he does seem to be deeply invested in LOTR fantasy, with an unhealthy fixation on the darker parts thereof.
