I wish manufacturers of "eco" disposable products would clearly indicate when they are only commercially compostable (which is most of the time), as compared to backyard-compostableHelluva time tryna convince the person who shares the compost here that the to-go cups from the coffee shop down the way (which does not compost, and which is in a city that does not offer residential compost service) are not gonna turn into dirt in the backyard bin anytime soon.

@mullvadnet An "equal partner" would either withdraw from a so-called partnership, or fight against it, if they truly felt that funding the xenophobic, white supremacist far right was wrong. It has nothing to do with expressing and accessing different viewpoints, and everything to do with enabling fascism. will definitely warn others against your service going forward

Introducing (to you) Muffin's #PixelBaseball adventure ⚾ Earlier this year whilst stuck at home, I re-discovered a DOS game I played as a lil kid: Tony La Russa's Ultimate Baseball (1991), a 16-bit baseball simulator letting you play and manage historical great players from 1900-1980. I played a season as my Minnesota (Pixel) Twins, but came up just short of the playoffs. So now that it's (to me) deathly hot outside and I'm stuck in again, I'm running it back, and rather than every day bothering my meatspace friends who don't really care, I decided I'm going to post my game results here, because I'm an adult and I can do what I want.I'll cw and tag each of these posts #PixelBaseball, so that if you absolutely don't give a shit, you can ignore/mute. But for any #baseball fans who might follow me or find this, if you enjoy it give me a holler.I'm doing an 81-game season, starting on the highest difficulty level this time, and in the season opener the Pixel Twins are clicking on all cylinders, final score: Twins 12, Blue Jays 1 (details in next post)

My first season ended in disappointment: leading the AL West division in the final week, I lost 6 of my last 8 games to fall short of the playoffs (in 1991 when this game came out, the AL and NL both had only 2 divisions; only the winner of each advanced to the league championship series, followed by the World Series). To make things more interesting running it back, I decided to add some modern-era players to each team. The best teams (season 1's playoff teams were the Giants, Yankees, Cardinals, and White Sox) got 2-3 new players each, while the worst got 6 or 7, to try and increase parity. For my Pixel Twins, I added 1988 Kirby Puckett and Frank Viola, 2006 Joe Nathan, and 2009 Joe Mauer.In my season opener against the Blue Jays, Mauer was the star, outshining the Blue Jays additions of John Olreud, Jose Bautista, and 5 others. Mauer cranked two binguses plus a double, going 3-5 with 5 RBIs. The Twins also got home runs from 1928 Goose :goose_honk: Goslin and 1920 Sam Rice in a 5-run 8th inning; 1913 Walter Johnson pitched a complete game in the 12-1 victory.A dominant start for the Pixel Twins. Next up is 4 games against the Boston Pixel Red Sox featuring 1969 Jim Perry vs 1917 Carl Mays on the mound. After that we go up against Babe Ruth, Cy Young, and Pedro Martinez. How about that!Win Twins!

My second game of my second season of Pixel Baseball (Tony La Russa's Ultimate Baseball 1991 for DOS) was the opposite of the first, just played fairly crappy all around. For this second season I loaded up teams with modern players for more league-wide parity, and gave the Red Sox 2000 Nomar Garciaparra, 1987 Wade Boggs and 2007 David "Big Papi" Ortiz. They all got hits, but it was 1941 Ted Williams who knocked me around the most, going 4-5 with two homers. Counting last season, he's hit 6 homeruns off my Pixel Twins in 7 games. Might just have to give him the Barry Bonds intentional walk treatment the rest of this series.1917 Carl Mays with the W, 1969 Jim Perry with the L for my Minnesota Pixel Twins. Usually I try to keep this thing to one game a day for my own mental health (not tryna become a Gamer here) but I'm ticked off so might have to play again this evening.

Another fuckin' dump in the bed for me. Cy Young on the mound for the Sox pitched a complete game shutout - just like he did against my Pixel Twins last Pixel Year. New additions Puckett and Mauer went combined 0-8, and Frank Viola on the mound did not have his sweet music.I mostly managed to pitch around Ted Williams this time - after a lead off single he went hit by pitch (not on purpose! i swear!), intentional walk, groundout, 9-pitch walk. But fuckin Carl Yastremski went 5-6. The bush league artificial intelligence (yes, the game used that term in 1991) gave him a cycle, but in reality his "double" was just the result of my bad throw, so for the sake of my pride we'll ignore that.Gonna have to get into shape soon though because this sucks. Don't play games, people! Especially retro 16-bit games that might actually be fuckin rigged! Grrrrr

Night in jail, job lost. Article doesn’t even mention who terrified the kids must’ve been.Now tell me: in this year of our larde, would you trust any one of these corporations that can read your messages to differentiate between “I’m gonna shoot the fam today” (with a gun) and “I’m gonna shoot the fam today” (as a photographer)? Or any other of the infinite number of potential misunderstandings or typos?
