       @fsfe @nicolef I've designed both audio & RF in the day job. Also design & install of studio & PA gear.This is over complicated mechanically, electrically and software.Stereo is pointless in a box that size.Should use a generic speaker.A simple 2 layer PCB with a 1/10th of the PCB parts is possible.Material is not eco-friendly or acoustically good.Open source in this case is irrelevant as there are far better starting points to do your own. Not worth copying, so safe to Open Source!

       @IzzyOnDroid So many have no website version (Revolut) or killed Website banking (An Post in Ireland), or only support far newer versions of Android than Google, and only on a phone, not on tablet or Android on Chromebook's ChromeOS.Idiotic.My CC company keeps sending me emails that I should add the card to Google Wallet on my phone for more security. I only use the CC online at home & it isn't even in my physical wallet, nor does it leave the house. Google Wallet is less secure!

       @gutenberg_org @dandylover1 Straight quotes were invented for mechanical typewriters and kept in 1928 on teleprinters  (5 bit code) and again in 1940s to 1980s for computers ( 7 bit ASCII etc).I use Calibre and convert every ebook from Gutenberg, automatically replacing typewriter quotes with correct quotes and apostrophes (better than Word?), also replacing spaced paragraphs with no space and a 1.3 em indent.Word & Libre Office may get an initial apostrophe wrong, putting an opening single.

       @gutenberg_org @dandylover1 The other issue with auto-conversion of straight quotes (as well as prefix apostrophes being ‘ instead of ’ ) is length/time/angles5' 6" > 5′ 6″ not 5’ 6” (prime & double prime).You may need to zoom text 150% to see the difference clearly on the poor sans font used by default on the website.

If they do, then proper quotes are likely to work better as ' and " are not always quotes!This is easy to test on XP to to Win11, Android with default Google reader (which works well in Pocketbook app), iOS, Mac OS, Linux and Kindles with jack sockets. The Kindle PW3 can use a generic USB audio stick & MicroUSB-A adapter. Needs download. Kindles & Kobo with BT work with BT RX to regular speaker/phones or BT earbuds.

       @gutenberg_org No, use USB transfer and a free program like Calibre to make azw3/KF8 from epub2 or epub3! The azw3/KF8 is is closer formatting to epub than kfx. Only K1, K2, and DX family need use actual mobi files, which Calibre can also make.Send to Kindle uses the Internet twice, gives Amazon a copy, is limited in file size and poorer quality than Calibre conversions. It's Amazon surveillance.I've converted Gutenberg files for over a decade with free Calibre. Mac, Windows & Linux.

       @itsfoss No ebook reader requires DRM on eBooks, not even the locked down Kindle.  Kindle can be used without Amazon.The Kindle is the only ereader that phones home & only if WiFi is on. Ebooks load via USB.Buttons for page turn are good & can be ignored. 4.2″ is too small for most people, though there are some smaller. There were 5″ ereaders, but they'll not be back. 6″ is OK and 7″ or 8″ are very good.480 × 800 is poor.CPU too cheap & slow.OS doesn't mean a free ride!

       @protonprivacy I'd trust my ISP more than random foreign VPN service provider who really exists to provide evasion of geolocation based blocking.Geolocation based on IP and blocking by location are both immoral. But that's a different issue.The use case for VPNs is secure access to your own office or home when away, and that doesn't need a 3rd party that can spy on you.

       @murena The problem is government & banking services.Many are app only. Lobby for a law that the Web version must exist & be fully functional.Lobby law  that Apps must be download able as apks without Playstore.There are also apps which don't need the internet that fail without the Google Framework. I have 1 table that has an Off Switch for all Google.I'd rather have Linux on a large tablet.It's not viable to replace Android on the phone for most people. I solve it by having 2 phones.
