       pro tip: In general if I'm posting a news link, I've probably already checked that it exists on archive.is; add https://archive.is/newest/ to the front of the URL for a static archived version*Edit:* some of the archive.today clones have availability problems; try others like archive.fo if you are having problems

       I feel like I should clarify: "being wrong on the Internet" is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the idea that the fastest way to get the right answer on the Internet is to post the wrong answer (what has become called Cunningham's law, presumably not least because he invented the wiki). It is not a literal request.

       @ariadne i think before about 10 years ago federal government ads crossing the informal line of advocating for government policy in a way that could be considered self-promotion like that rather than just informing about a government program were pretty rare
