Thanks for your interest and all the great questions!It's true that AI and its effect on component pricing has vastly inflated product costs; as prices reduce over time, you'll see Purism products reduce in price as well.Non-US keyboard layouts are on our minds but simply did not make the initial Librem 16 manufacturing run. We'll be investigating options to offer these in the future, however. The same is true for the Librem 14 version 2.

@zwarf @FreeTube I asked a PureOS developer about potential regressions. They said YouTube used to be much snappier in Epiphany on PureOS Crimson, too - that something must have changed server-side at some point.

@okias @agx @pine64 Mobile Linux benefits from many angles. We invest heavily in the Librem 5 with ongoing hardware/software R&D and upstream contributions. A Librem 5 v2 is in the works.PINE64 has also been instrumental in making mobile Linux hardware more accessible. Their community has driven significant interest, too; in fact, our CTO joined Purism after using a PP/PPP and getting more involved.Mobile Linux needs both: serious R&D and hardware that more people can experiment with.

@migratoryThank you for the question. Librem 5 Fir is in active development. Customers who have waited for this release will receive what is essentially a Librem 5 version 2. We thank all Fir customers for their support and patience for all this time.Lesson learned: Going forward, Purism is unlikely to accept crowdfunding or pre-orders for >N+1 hardware versions due to such a significant number of unknown factors, especially given current market volatility.
