       We helped out on a small local archeological dig today. This is an old well in Orwell. How old? Why was it built? How was it built? Nobody knows yet.My knees and back are killing me, but it was overall very interesting and enjoyable.

       The recent Jenkins 2.555.1 LTS now needs Java 21 as a minimum, dropping support for Java 17. If you're running illumos on x86, then distros should have your back; if you're running Solaris 11.4 on x86, you're covered by my builds here: https://pkgs.tribblix.org/openjdk/intel-solaris/If you're running Solarish on SPARC, then unfortunately the road stops at Java 17 (for now, and while I would like to push the port further I can't see myself having enough time to work on it in the near future).

       @olbohlen @ytc1 @patrick While SPARC is really quick on paper, in practice a lot of modern software performs really poorly on it, and increasingly so. Python, for example, is much slower than you would expect based on the clock. As an extreme example, the zero VM that is an alternative to hotspot for the JDK is painfully slow on SPARC, so while you could have (and I probably will create) a zero build for newer JDK on SPARC, it's effectively unusable.

       @selea The problem would be that rscadm was never open, so isn't present in illumos and thus not in Tribblix. You would need Solaris 10 (or older, I guess) for that.
