@SwiftOnSecurity someone i knew at micro$oft had this routine using their slogans in order.can't remember them all but it went something like:"making things make sense"[... various less and less concrete slogans ...]win95: "so, where do you want to go today"and now it's recall, copilot, and AI slop...

i'm offiicially an old man, screaming at the sky "get off my lawn".i'm *SO* tired of "oh, yes, we have a manual. watch this youtube video.".no. i do not want to watch your video. i want this quaint technique that goes back thousands of years that these folks apparently haven't heard of. words.i like words. i miss words.if all you have is a video, you don't have a manual. you have a shitty podcast i won't watch or like or rate or whatever it is that these illiterates do when they watch the video.grrrr...

@0xabad1dea a large company i worked at had mandatory phishing training as a video. they outsourced but HR forgot to let anyone know that the email for the video would come from an external firm and the link would also be a seemingly random outside link.engineering mostly reported the email as a phishing attack. the VP of eng was proud, HR was pissed and embarassed.some of us argued that we should be given a passing grade and not have to watch the video but, sadly, they still made us waste our time watching it.
